Epithelial cell biology

The EGFR family of growth factor receptors performs a multitude of biological functions, and their deregulation underlies a vast proportion of epithelial cancers. We are exploring how the EGFR receptor regulate fundamental cell biological phenomena, in particular establishment of cell-cell contacts, cell polarity, cell migration. By utilizing a combination of cell biological methods and in vivo mouse genetics, we have uncovered exciting novel roles of EGFR receptors that we are exploring with much enthusiasm and anticipation.
